?Chapter 1089:
Dane paused for a moment before smiling wryly. Indeed, Madisyn’s driving skills far surpassed his. His worry had been unnecessary.
Still, he reminded her gently, “Okay, but drive safe. Send me a message when you get home.”
“Sure, no problem,” Madisyn replied with a smile.
After saying her goodbyes to Dane and Susan, Madisyn watched as their ck Maybach disappeared into the distance. She then turned to Docie with a warm smile. “Docie, please get in the car now. Docie?”
Docie only snapped out of her daze after Madisyn called her name twice. She looked away from the luxury car that had be a small ck dot in the distance and nodded to Madisyn. “Thanks, Miss Johns.”
Madisyn watched as Docie got into the passenger seat, a bit confused. Why had Docie been staring at Dane’s car just now? Was she fascinated by the car?
Madisyn shook her head, unsure about it.
The following morning, the news made waves in industry circles—Docie had officially been taken under the wing of the Riggs Group’s CEO.
As soon as Docie walked into the Riggs Group building, she immediately felt the warmth from her colleagues. Although they had always been kind to her, today’s wee felt different.
They were more enthusiastic than ever before.
She greeted everyone before sitting at her desk. Kori, her colleague sitting across from her, pushed a small cake toward her. “Good morning, Docie. I bought this new cake on my way to the office this morning. It’s delicious. You should try it.”
Docie stared at the beautifully packaged cake on the desk. She recognized the logo on the box—it was from a famous bakery known for its exquisite, pricey pastries. She was usually in a rush on her way to the office, often having a quick breakfast and snacking while working. Did Kori give her this cake because she knew her morning habits?
This was the first time Docie had felt such care and attention from her colleagues in the office. It waspletely different from when she had been promoted before. Now, they all seemed eager to get close to her and build a connection.
When she was promoted, her colleagues’ congrattions had been polite but felt hollow, their smiles never quite reaching their eyes.
They subtly distanced themselves from her. But now, things felt different. She could sense their genuine desire to connect with her.
Docie quickly embraced this new atmosphere in the workce. She smiled at Kori and epted the cake. “Thank you, Kori.”
At that moment, Docie was called into their department head’s office. After receiving her assignments, she returned to her desk, opened her phone, and reviewed the details of the perfumepetitions that Susan had sent her the previous day.
Susan had said that from today onward, Docie would gain hands-on exposure to all the major departments within the Riggs Group. Each day, she would also spend time in the research and development department, crafting her own perfumes while applying the insights she gathered. Afterward, she would participate in perfume-making contests to sharpen her skills and deepen her understanding of the craft.
Docie saw this as a valuable opportunity and had no objections. After quickly reviewing the information Susan had sent her, she dove into her departmental tasks.
