The next morning, Felix got a call from Kane. "Mr. Zeller, we''ve figured out how the chief died. It was because his martial arts technique went wrong, not foul y."


    Since it was not murder, Felix rxed a bit. He could now focus on Curtis'' situation. "What about you?" Felix asked.,


    Kane replied, "I''ve been promoted to Chief of Oasis Clinic, so I can''te back to Avesburgh. Mr. Zeller, the person I found for you should be there in two days max. Her name''s Vivian. She''s somewhat of a niece to me. "She''s been with Dragon Alliance for almost four years and is a martial arts prodigy. She''s already Deputy Chief of the Earthen Hall."


    The Earthen Hall? Felix was surprised. It was one of the top divisions in Dragon Alliance, as the people there handled all assassination missions. Getting in there required serious skill. For Vivian to have be a deputy chief in just a few years was indeed impressive. "Alright, tell her to contact me when she arrives," Felix said.


    "Oh, and Mr. Zeller, I''ve left Avesburgh''s underworld forces in Stinger''s hands. If any punks give you trouble, just have Stinger handle it."


    At noon, in Vi No. 6 of Azure Residences, Warren and Nattie were startled by Sasha bursting in during lunch. "Hah! Mom, Dad, great news!"


    Warren frowned. "Stop yelling. Sit down and eat."


    But Nattie was curious. She asked, "What''s the news, Sasha? Never mind your dad. I want


    to hear."


    Sasha hurried over and sat next to Nattie. "Mom, I just heard from a friend. Avesburgh''s underworld is in chaos. Kane''s gone to who knows where. Now his right-hand man, Stinger, is in charge."


    Kane was gone? Even Warren perked up after hearing that. Nattie''s eyes lit up. "Kane''s'' gone? Hah! Doesn''t that mean Felix has lost his backup? Wait, if Stinger is Kane''s right-hand man, he''d probably still look out for Felix."


    Sasha scoffed. "Mom, you don''t get it. My friends have it all figured out. Stinger''s no Kane. Kane had connections and skills. The big shots respected Kane himself, not just his position! I''ve even heard that some of Kane''s old allies are already plotting to grab power. How can Felix do anything big now?"


    Just as Nattie was about to respond, Warren interrupted, "Enough! Don''t discuss this

    again. Felix has been more than fair to us. If anything, we owe him. Whether he gains or loses his foothold, you''re not to cause him any trouble. If I hear you have, I''ll cut you off!"


    Sasha shrank back. She had never heard Warren being so harsh to her. But she had no intention of letting it go. That p still stung in her memory. She would certainly cause trouble, but it just had to be subtle enough that Warren wouldn''t catch on.


    Meanwhile, Felix was having a farewell lunch with Wendy. The Kinsley family''s Miracle Card had been auctioned off to Moonshadow Alliance, giving them substantial benefits. Avesburgh was now too small for the Kinsleys. They were off to bigger ces with greater potential. With Moonshadow Alliance''s backing, establishing themselves in a major city would be a breeze


    They were not abandoning their Avesburgh assets entirely and would leave some rtives in charge. However, as time passed, they would likely lose interest in these smaller holdings too.
