In the courtyard of Kane''s estate, Stinger was tied to arge tree. His upper body was bare, while a whipshed across his skin, leaving bloody marks one after another. Yet, Stinger refused to make a sound.
Not far away, a middle-aged man sat in a grand armchair with his feet propped on the seat, his expression full of disdain.
"Killing someone like Hunter is one thing. You can do that as you please. However, Stinger, what you should never have done is disrespect Lord Jamison."
When the whipping stopped, Stinger red fiercely.
"Skyler, cut the crap and stop pretending to be the good guy! Even if I didn''t look down on Harold, do you think he wouldn''t havee after me? When Lord Kane was around, you acted like ackey. Are you acting so tough now just because you''ve found a new person to support you?"
The middle-aged man, Skyler Stevens, chuckled.
"Let me tell you something. Lord Jamison is taking over Avesburgh''s underground scene. It''s not because Lord Kane''s gone, but because Lord Kane got lucky and left in time. If he hadn''t, he''d still be forced out."
Stinger spat out a mouthful of blood, still defiant. "I know I''m a dead man walking, but don''t celebrate too soon. Once Lord Kane finds out, he''ll definitely avenge me."
Skyler stood up slowly, rubbing his hands together. "Calm down. I never said I''d kill you off just yet. I heard there''s a guy Lord Kane calls ''Mr. Zeller.'' It seems like he''s some kind of rtive of Lord Kane. How about you call him over to save you?"
"Mr. Zeller?" Stinger furrowed his brows. Outsiders might think he was just a rtive, but they didn''t know that Felix was the most terrifying one of all. He let out a coldugh.
"Who the hell do you think you are? You''re not even worthy of meeting Mr. Zeller! Do whatever you want. Just stop whining like a little girl."
"You ungrateful piece of trash!"
Skyler sat back down and raised his hand. "Keep whipping him. I want to see how tough this guy really is."
Just as Skyler''s underlings were about to swing the whip again, ackey ran in.
"There''s someone outside named Felix Zeller. He says we should let Stinger go."
Stinger lowered his head, surprised that Felix had actually shown up. He felt ashamed and couldn''t bring himself to look up.
"Let him in." Skyler''s lips curled into a slight smile as he turned to look at Stinger. "So much for that tough talk. When did you sneak a message out, huh? Well, it doesn''t matter. You''re saving me a lot of trouble."
When Felix entered and saw Stinger''s condition, he casually waved his hand. Just like that, an invisible de cut through the ropes, instantly freeing Stinger.
""Mr. Zeller, I-"
"We''ll talkter."
That simple gesture left Skyler and his men in shock. It seemed like magicpletely over the top-especially since they knew how tightly the ropes had been tied. However, Skyler recollected himself, thinking he had it figured out.
"I guess you''re a skilled martial artist. Otherwise, you couldn''t have done that.'' Felix remained expressionless, staring directly at Skyler. "Are you Harold Jamison?" Stinger, who had staggered closer, quickly corrected him, "He''s Skyler Stevens, one of Harold''sckeys. Harold isn''t here, Mr. Zeller."
Since he wasn''t Harold, Felix wasn''t going to waste any more time. A surge rippled out from him, and all of Skyler''s henchmen copsed to the ground.
of energy
Before Skyler could fully register what was happening, he cried out in pain, realizing that one of his legs had been broken, leaving him sprawled on the ground.
"Tell him to get Harold here, or else, he''ll end up as a cripple."
Even Stinger was startled. Felix''s ruthlessness this time was a stark contrast to before.
Skyler, terrified to his core, quickly reached for his phone. He had no intention of bing
a cripple. Losing a leg was bad enough, but the thought of losing everything was
unbearable.
