"Dr. Quinn, how did it go?" Jaden asked on Zena''s behalf as he sensed her tension.
Brandon''s scowl deepened, and he scoffed. "Did you really call me all the way here for this? He''s fine. He''ll be up and about in a few days."
The renowned doctor was clearly annoyed at being summoned for what he considered a trivial matter. After all, Curtis only had some blocked cirction-nothing that required a master healer. Any decent hospital or regr traditional medical practitioner could have handled it.
"He''s... cured?" Xena stood frozen in disbelief while Jaden rushed to see Brandon off.
When Jaden returned, he saw Xena still standing at the same spot. He urged, "You should go check on Mr. Summers Senior!"
They went inside the room together. Although neither were doctors, they were impressive martial artists and could roughly assess someone''s physical condition.
Since Xena visited Curtis daily, she immediately noticed the dramatic difference. Hisplexion was rosy, and his breathing was steady and much steadier.
"It''s a miracle! Grandpa is really recovering!" Xena eximed, overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. She turned to Jaden, her eyes shining. "Jaden, thank you so much!" Xena was in disbelief at the massive gap between a top-three master healer like Brandon
and others ranked in the top ten. Seth had informed her that there was no hope, yet Brandon had healed Curtis in a matter of minutes. It was beyond extraordinary.
J?den smiled warmly. "You''re more than wee. I''ll head out now and visit when Mr. Summers Senior wakes up."
He understood that timing was everything and that it was important to give Xena space. Right now, Xena''s focus was entirely on Curtis, and staying would not aplish much. It was better to let things progress naturally; his next visit would mean even more. After Jaden left, Xena sat by Curtis'' bedside. "Grandpa, when you wake up in a few days, I hope we can finally get Felix out of my life. We owe Jaden too much to do otherwise."
Although she had not officially epted Jaden, she was ready to give him a chance after this inciderit. After all, Jaden was exceptional in every way and now had even saved Curtis'' life. Ignoring that would be unreasonable.
A part of Xena was already starting to believe that Jaden might be the person she had been waiting for all along. Meanwhile, Felix returned to Kane''s old ce after grabbing a quick bite.
With his vi burned down, this was his temporary home. He knew he probably would not
return to Tabiner Bay, as renovating it would take over a year and seemed pointless now. More importantly, he had to wait for Curtis'' decision when he woke up.
Just then, footsteps echoed in the hallway as Yvonne walked in. She had called Felix earlier and hade here to find him.
"It''ste. What brings you here?" Felix asked.
Yvonne''s expression appeared conflicted as she prepared to say goodbye to the man who had been her first. "I''m leaving Avesburgh tomorrow," she announced softly. Felix felt a twinge of emotion after hearing her words. After all, Yvonne had been his first woman, even if their rtionship had beenplicated and unclear.
