After 15 minutes, Felix wiped his mouth, having eaten without interruption or questions. He asked, "I''m done. Can we talk now?"


    Xena nodded and began, "My grandpa has recovered. He should wake up any day now."


    Felix was not surprised by this news. As a skilled martial artist who visited Curtis daily, Xena would naturally notice any improvements in his condition.


    However, he did not share the truth about Curtis'' recovery because he saw no need to. If Curtis set him free, he and Xena would have no further connection, so why bother? "That''s good news," Felix replied simply.


    Xena seemed puzzled by hisck of reaction but did not dwell on it. After all, they were not family, so she could not expect him to be emotionally invested.


    "I sincerely hope you''ll break off the engagement yourself. I don''t want my grandpa to face


    situation as soon as he wakes up," Xena stated firmly.


    Felix stood up. "I''m sorry, but as I''ve said before, I respect the older generation. This isn''t my decision to make."


    Gerald''s instructions were clear, and Felix intended to honor his arraignment. However, his response only angered Xena.


    "I''m trying to be reasonable here, and this is your attitude? Arranged marriages are outdated! As a woman, don''t I have the right to pursue my own happiness? Why are you doing this to me?" Xena shouted.


    Felix felt a pang of guilt seeing Xena like this. He understood that everyone, even the formidable goddess of war, had the right to pursue their romantic rtionships. Yet, sometimes, one could not have it both ways.


    "I''m truly sorry. If Mr. Summers Senior disapproves of this marriage, I''ll walk away immediately and never bother you again," Felix said.


    As Felix left, Xena fumed. She knew Curtis all too well-the stubbornness of the older generation would not be changed by a serious illness. Now, her only hopey with Jaden. Perhaps Curtis'' gratitude for saving his life could put an end to this ridiculous situation. The following day, Felix headed to the airport. The medicalpetition with Guneria was too important to risk any dys. However, he had overlooked one crucial detail- Brandon''s involvement, which had elerated Curtis'' recovery without Felix''s knowledge. At 9:30 am, the door burst open as Xena rushed in, having sped from the Phoenix Legion headquarters.


    "Where''s Grandpa?" she demanded, startling the housekeeper who had called to inform her of Curtis'' awakening.


    "Mr. Summers Senior left, and I couldn''t stop him. He wouldn''t let me follow!"


    Xena was not overly worried. She had people stationed around the vi just in case something like this happened. A quick phone call revealed Curtis''s whereabouts.


    As she got into her car, Xena forced herself to stay calm. Since Curtis was already awake, she needed to act fast to prevent the engagement from being enforced. Without hesitation, she called Jaden..


    "Xena, has Mr. Summers Senior woken up?"


    Xena took a deep breath and replied, "Yes, he has. Jaden, Grandpa''s gone to the cemetery to visit Grandma''s grave. I need you to meet me there right away. I-I need your help."
