Rnd''s face paled as his eyes widened. "She.. She''s alive?"
Max grinned. "Watch your mouth, kid. How could my boss possibly have died? You disappointed her, and those who disappoint must pay."
Pointing at Felix, he continued, "The original n was to drug him and Michelle and film their affair to crush you emotionally before dealing with you physically. But he seemed to be a traditional medicine practitioner, so he noticed the drugs. We had no choice but to attack first." Rnd looked devastated. "No, I forever. It''s not my fault!"
She never appeared. I couldn''t possibly wait
"Let''s go," Felix cut in, knowing this wasn''t the time.
"Going somewhere?" Max threw a knife into the ground before Rnd. girlfriend Michelle, and all is forgiven!"
"Kill vo
your
Rnd stood frozen, clearly shaken by the mention of that woman Pearly.
"What if he refuses?" Felix asked..
Max traced a circle in the air. "Then, you all die. This is Meadowspring''s burial ground. Without the chief''s permission, trespassers face death!"
Theodore''s expression darkened. "Fighting Meadowspring means going against the Saphira family. This is troublesome."
Before Felix could respond, Max stepped back, as Rnd was still standing. "I have my answer. Chief, they''re yours."
Torches lit up as over a hundred figures emerged.
"They have two Martial Emperor-level fighters." Theodore grimaced after he sensed something. One was bad enough, and fighting two was impossible.
"Everyone, we mean no disrespect to your dead. We were lured here by that guy! These men are from Dragon Alliance''s Earthen Hall. Surely you''ve heard of it, right?"
Max sneered. "Did you think I couldn''t recognize where they''re from? Dragon Alliance means nothing here!"
Felix and the group were already surrounded by the vigers. But as Max spoke, the elderly chief at the front studied something carefully, then raised his hand. "You may leave." What?
Max''s face changed. "Chief, do you know what you''re saying?"
Expressionless, the chief said, "He saved my life. Consider it repaid."
Max clenched his fists. Before he left, he said, "Fine! Remember what you said today. My boss will hold you ountable."
As he left, Felix quickly led everyone out. It was unbelievable that there were two Martial Emperors in a single vige. Before they set off Felix had never even heard of Meadowspring and had to find it on GPS. He never imagined it held such power. The power of this vige alone had surpassed many martial arts sects.
