With Husband 687

The neer was a young man, the same one who had earlier looked at Felix from a distance with great disdain.

"How do we know that you''ve truly cured him? His back might be straightened, but who can guarantee how long it willst?". Felix ignored the young man''s aggressive attitude and didn''t even respond. Several elderly figures immediately rushed over. "Shut up, you impudent brat! How dare you speak out of line?" they scolded.

Levi approached Felix with an apologetic smile. "I''m sorry. That young rtive is ignorant and rude. Please forgive him.

Felix nodded without saying much and turned to leave.

Even so, the young man was still seething with anger, though he dared not speak up anymore.

He dared to behave this way because, after Mason''s death, he was the most talented and gifted young member of the Jacobs family.

He had just reached the Innate Realm the day before. He had been summoned to that ce by his elders to receive guidance, which made him bold but not reckless enough to overstep.

Once Felix left the Jacobs family estate, he finally rxed. In truth, when the young man called him, he genuinely thought he had been detected. Thankfully, it turned out to be a false rm.

At least for now, things were ying out as he had imagined. The person who used the Scarlet Thread technique was not at the Jacobs family estate. They were out looking for him.

Mason had erased all the footage and records from several cities where he had been captured by surveince. Even if the Jacobs family suspected that the killer was in Gray City, they would onlye a day or twoter. When Felix arrived at the restaurant, George, Ryan, Madeline, and her husband were already there. It was always a pleasure to meet old friends. Hence, Felix was in good spirits.

"Felix, in a few days, it will be Jack''s wedding. You''ll definitely be going, right?" Madeline

    asked.

Félix smiled at Madeline. "Of course. If I don''t go, that brat will curse me for the rest of my life."

Everyone burst intoughter, and George and Ryan couldn''t help but feel envious. Regardless of how things unfolded between Felix and Jack in the future, that bond would

never be replicated. It was one of a kind.

Given Felix''s current situation, his friendships with others were certainly beneficial, but they wouldn''tpare to the lifesaving bond he had with Jack.

Just then, Jack called. Felix found the timing amusing.

"See, we can''t even talk about him in peace. Speak of the devil," he said.

When the call connected, Jack''s voice sounded off as he asked, "Felix, did you offend a fat monk?"

A fat monk? Felix''s mind immediately recalled Billy from Sixview Peak. He had been the one who had once scammed him most terribly, and that incident was hard to forget. "Well, I don''t think I offended him. Why do you ask?"

"Because I''m the fat monk sitting right next to him," said another voice from Jack''s end.

Upon hearing Billy''s voice, Felix wasn''t nervous. "What''s the matter? Why are you looking for me?"

He had no enmity with Billy, so there was no reason he would harm Jack

"Where have you been, my friend? You didn''t even tell me," Billy said.

Felix frowned. "Are you nning to swindle me again?"

"Well, I''ll let you figure that out. I''mzy and don''t want to send someone to investigate. If you don''t tell me, I''ll just keep pestering your friend here. Even if he''s taking a shower, I''ll be the one handing him soap." Billy was quite humorous, though Felix couldn''t understand why he was so eager to find him. Finally, he decided to share his whereabouts.

"I''m in Gray City," Felix replied.

"That''s more like it. You''re a man after all.''

The phone call didn''t end, and Jack asked, "Felix, is there any trouble? This monk looks all nice and polite, but something feels off to me."
