Zayn looked visibly displeased. He had never seen Felix before, but he trusted the reports from his subordinates. Felix had definitely entered Echo Cavern, so what was going on now?
After separating from Nerissa, Felix turned to Wilson, sping his hands in respect. "Mr. Xavier, I greet you. I''vee today to formally propose marriage and to select the best date to marry Nerissa."
Wilson was momentarily stunned, struggling to process what was happening. He even began to wonder if all the talk about Echo Cavern was a joke. Otherwise, how could Felix still be alive?
"So, you''re the Felix mentioned in the marriage contract?"
Felix nodded with a smile. "That''s correct. I''vee to honor that prenuptial agreement."
Before anyone could respond, Zayn''s voice cut through. "Westley Xavier, who arranged that prenuptial agreement, hasn''t been seen in quite some time. Do you really think that agreement still holds? Even if you miraculously survived Echo Cavern, do you think you''re worthy of Nerissa?"
Felix frowned and asked inly, "And who are you?"
Zayn''s expression darkened instantly.
One of his subordinates barked, "Impudent! This is the sixth prince of the royal family! How dare you disrespect him?"
Felix was caught off guard. He hadn''t expected this person to be a member of the royal family. But what of it?
"A refineddy is admired by noblemen, and in matters of love, everyone stands as equals. You have your rights, just as I have mine. If Nerissa wishes to go with you, I''ll have nothing more to say," Felix said.
Nerissa''s reply, however, left no room for doubt. "My fiancé has returned, so this matter no longer concerns you, Your Highness. I''m sorry."
Zayn sneered coldly and turned his gaze to Wilson as if to say, "Well, what are you going to do about this?"
Wilson now
found himself in a tough position, caught between a rock and a hard ce-on one side was the marriage prenuptial agreement. arranged by Westley, and on the other was the sixth prince, whom he had taken the liberty to invite as a potential son-inw-it would be difficult to choose a side.
Still, with Westley absent, Wilson dared not openly break the marriage agreement. Yet, in his heart, he leaned heavily toward Zayn. After all, the benefits of aligning with the royal family far outweighed anything Felix could offer.
Having made up his mind, Wilson''s expression lit up with a diplomatic smile.
"Well, the Xavier family has always prided itself on integrity. Since the marriage prenuptial agreement was established, and both parties seem to be in agreement, we should honor it.
"However, Felix, the Xavier family is no ordinary household. Respect and appearances matter to us. Do you truly intend to show up empty-handed to im my daughter? That would be rather dismissive of the Xavier family, wouldn''t it?"
Nerissa was about to retort when J quickly stepped forward and whispered to her, "Don''t act impulsively. I know Dad is being intentionally difficult, but he''s not wrong.
"With Zayn here as a witness, if we hastily finalize the wedding without observing proper customs, our family will be theughingstock of Martial City."
Though reluctant, Nerissa remained silent. Her sister''s words had merit—as much as she despised such shallow formalities, she couldn''t allow her family to lose face.
Suddenly, the sound of pping broke the tension. Zayn smirked and gestured for one of his subordinates to step forward. "Mr. Xavier, this is just a small token of my regard. It''s a simple meeting gift."
After emphasizing the words "meeting gift", the subordinate proudly announced, "50,000 emeralds, one luxury car, a property deed in the most prosperous district of the Imperial City, and six top-grade restorative pills."
With that, Zayn cast a disdainful nce at Felix. "And you? What do you have to offer?"
