?Chapter 410:

His answer came without hesitation. “Amusement park. I’ve never been to one.”

Allison tilted her head, surprised. As the heir to the Lloyd family, Ken had never had the luxury of simple, carefree pleasures.

    “Alright then, it’s settled.”

She smiled, but just as the words left her mouth, the sky rumbled outside.

    Boom!

A sh of lightning lit up the room, casting shadows across Ken’s face.

And that was when Allison saw it—his shoulder. The white bandage there was slowly darkening, the edges already soaking through with red.

“Wait.” Her heart lurched. “Your wound. It’s bleeding!”

Allison stood abruptly, her mind set on helping Ken. “I’ll grab the first aid kit. Stay put.”

Before Ken could brush it off as nothing, she had already disappeared into the shadows.

His gaze darkened slightly, an unfamiliar excitement rippling through him.

Momentster, Allison returned, moving swiftly and confidently through the dim light, as if the darkness posed no obstacle.

“Sit here. It’ll make it easier for me to clean and bandage you.”

She moved the candle closer, illuminating the blood-soaked gauze around his wound. While her face remained calm, her hands moved with practiced gentleness.

As Allison removed the gauze, the sight of the torn flesh beneath was startling, but she didn’t flinch. Wordlessly, she applied the medication that Floyd had left behind.

    “This might sting a little.”

Outside, the wind screamed, rattling the windows, while inside, the soft flickering light cast a warm glow over them. The bandage was wrapped tightly, and once no more blood seeped through, Allison exhaled in relief. Her forehead glistened with a light sheen of sweat.

If the wound reopened, there was a high risk of infection, which would onlyplicate matters.

“You’re not made of steel, so try to take care of yourself, Mr. Lloyd,” Allison murmured as she cleaned up the supplies.

Discarded bloodied gauzey beside Ken, revealing his lean torso. Allison’s eyes flicked away, but the familiar sight stirred something different in her. It was strange. They had been close before and shared intimate moments many times, but now, each touch seemed to carry more weight, as if crossing invisible boundaries.

“I’ll get you a clean shirt,” she said, starting to rise, but Ken’s hand gently grasped her wrist.

When she turned back, she almost instinctively fell into Ken’s embrace. Their eyes locked, and for a brief moment, time seemed to slow.

His deep, dark eyes held hers as their breaths mingled. His grip around her waist was firm, protective.
