?Chapter 441:

    ?? ?? ?? ?? ??

But Louis tightened his fists, unwilling to bend his knees. In the past, he might have conceded, but now, with his career on the rise, showing weakness could cost him more than just his pride. Word would spread, and soon, he’d be mocked throughout the industry.

Determined to save face, Louis straightened up and started to argue.

“It was just some harmless banter, Ms. rke. Do you really need to make a big deal out of this? I’ll admit I underestimated you, and for that, I apologize. I’m sincerely sorry.”

His tone, however, was anything but genuine. The words fell t, more like an afterthought than a true apology.

Allison arched an eyebrow, clearly entertained. “I’m making a big deal?

If I had wanted to make a big deal, I never would’ve agreed to the bet in the first ce.”

    Louis, still defiant, doubled down.

“Isn’t that exactly what this is? Sure, you’re skilled, but I’ve been in this field longer. Expecting me to kneel and admit defeat is just you taking advantage of the situation.” He clearly didn’t believe Allison would force him to follow through.

But she remained unfazed, letting out a dry, mockingugh.

“Oh, really? Funny, because you were the one who suggested kneeling and apologizing, not me.”

Her eyes, sharp and cold, pierced through his flimsy defiance.

“I didn’t take you for a coward, Louis. All talk, no action.” Her words cut through the air, sharp and unforgiving.

Furious, Louis turned on his heel, preparing to leave.

    “You can’t make me!”

His team members exchanged uncertain nces.

They had witnessed the entire exchange and knew that Allison wasn’t at fault.

But with Louis as their superior, none of them felt brave enough to intervene.

However, Roderick wasn’t about to let it slide.

“Louis, you need to apologize. Now.”

Louis tightened his grip on his toolbox, refusing to move.

“Mr. Astley, I know you’re speaking for her because of your past friendship, but this is between me and her. Please don’t interfere. I’ll visit you another day to apologize and discuss restoration techniques.”

It was clear Louis was determined to avoid his responsibility.

    Roderick’s expression darkened with disappointment.

“You’ve really let me down. I never thought ourmunity would stoop to such dishonesty. Since when do we value seniority over skill? When did arrogance and dishonesty be traits of a so-called master? It’s disgraceful.”

Without waiting for a response, he turned to Allison.

“Ms. rke, rest assured, I will make sure you’re treated fairly. Your reputation won’t be tarnished by any of this.”
