?Chapter 498:

    ?? ?? ?? ?? ??

In truth, the money Allison had given Amya before was more than enough.

But their moment was cut short by a loud bang at the door. “Open up!” came a brash female voice.

Amya’s hand instinctively reached for the dagger on her desk. In Muisvedo, it was wise to stay alert. This ce was a den of wolves and snakes.

Allison held up a hand to signal silence, then tapped a few controls on the console. Thick walls rose up, enclosing the mainframe inyers of reinforced metal, transforming the room into a bare-bones warehouse. Calmly, Allison donned a half-mask, walked to the door, and opened it.

    “What’s going on?”

Standing outside was a woman dressed in tight leather, her hair mboyantly dyed, a baseball bat resting on her shoulder — clearly imitating Harley Quinn.

Allison recognized her immediately. Fay Walsh, one of Muisvedo’s more vtile leaders.

“Scarlet Snake, it’s your lucky day.” Fay sneered, looking Allison up and down. “Amor Prescott has her eye on this base. She’s willing to pay you ten times the rent to move out. You have three days to clear the building.”

In Muisvedo, cash was king. Nobody questioned backgrounds.

When Allison had purchased this base a few years ago, people assumed she’d settle into it. But over the years, she barely showed her face.

The base was an imprable fortress, rumored to be guarded by deadly assassins. But now, it seemed to be protected by a lone, masked woman.

Despite Fay’s overbearing attitude, Allison remained remarkably calm.

“Tell your boss to find another spot,” she said, leaning casually against the doorframe, pletely unfazed. “Or better yet, have here talk to me herself.”

Fay let out a coldugh, smugly waving a document in Allison’s face.

“The boss already gave his orders. This is the consent form, stamped with his personal seal.”

Allison’s expression remained calm, her demeanor unfazed. “Have your bosse talk to me directly, or there’s nothing to discuss.”

Fay’s face twisted with indignation; no one had ever spoken to her like that. “Are you deaf or something?”

But Allison, looking as rxed as a cat, leaned back with an amused smile. “Not at all. I just don’t understand. Why don’t you exin it to me?”

“I’m saying this ce is no longer yours.” Fay pulled a wad of cash from her pocket and tossed it at Allison. “You have three days to move out. If you hold up Amor’s ns, there’ll be hell to pay.”

Her voice wasced with contempt, radiating disdain.

    “Get it now, idiot?”

Allison raised an eyebrow, resting her chin in her hand. “Oh? And what if I don’t?”

Fay scoffed, spitting on the ground. “Do you even know who Amor is? She’s a powerhouse in foreign business, connected to reactionary gang leaders. Cross her, and you’ll be in over your head!”
