Chapter 500:

Andres looked down at the blood-streaked floor, a faint smile ying at his lips. “A simple misunderstanding. Perhaps we can discuss this properly?”
Behind him stood a dozen armed bodyguards in ck. It was both an intimidation tactic and a warning.
But Allison’s expression remained impassive. She released Fay, who stumbled back, visibly shaken.
“I’m quite attached to this ce,” Allison said, wiping her knife clean with a handkerchief. “I don’t intend to sublet it.”
She had no desire to escte things; Fay had already reaped her own punishment. And if Andres was offering a peaceful solution, she was willing to take it.
“So it would be best to find Amor another location,” she added.
Andres approached, hands sped, his smile measured. “Unfortunately, Amor specifically requested this property. I owe her a favor, you see.”
He paused, meeting Allison’s gaze. “Or we can resolve this the Muisvedo way — with a wager against Amor, for rights to the property.”
It wasn’t a suggestion. It was a challenge.
Andres was a tough man, the kind who stayed silent but observed everything. Though he appeared neutral, he was actually working behind the scenes to support Amor. Allison suspected that others might resort to dirty tricks in the gambling game.

“Tsk, are you afraid of a little gamble?” Fay taunted, clutching her arm in pain. She red at Allison, resentment burning in her eyes. “If you’re scared, just leave now. At least that way, you’ll walk away with somepensation.”
Fay couldn’t understand why Andres hadn’t just had Allison killed or sent his men to scare her into leaving. But the rules of Muisvedo had been in ce for years, and they were always followed.
Allison tilted her head, a challenging smile ying on her lips. “If I remember correctly, the casino falls under Muisvedo’s jurisdiction. Since these people work for you, why should I trust that you’re not in league with Amor… only to kill me in secret afterward?”
Fay’s face flushed with anger. “That’s bullshit! If we wanted you dead, you wouldn’t be here talking.”
“Fay, shut up,” Andresmanded, his voice hard.
Fay fell silent.
Andres then turned to Allison, his tone serious. “The chairman will be at the casino today. You know as long as he’s around, the rules will be enforced more strictly than usual. There will be no cheating.”
Allison raised an eyebrow at the mention of the chairman. She knew him to be a mysterious figure, managing the casino operations on the surface, but in reality, he was the hidden force behind Muisvedo.
If she could gain his favor, her n to reboot Hacker’s World would go much smoother.
Noticing her thoughtful silence, Fay couldn’t resist taunting again. “I’ll be sure to report your attitude to the chairman today.”
