Chapter 693

    ?Chapter 693:

Verruckt rose from his chair, eyes locked on her like a wolf readying for the kill.

“There are indeed secrets here,” he said. “But none you’ll live to share.”

Before she could react, heunched another full-force attack. The charge was sudden, blindingly fast — far beyond anything she’d witnessed just now.

Allison barely had time to move before his hand mped around her wrist. The next moment, her back mmed against the cold, unyielding wall, the impact stealing the air from her lungs.

“Yourbat skills are… impressive,” Verruckt murmured, leaning in close.

His grip tightened around her neck, cutting off her breath. “If this were three years ago, you might’ve stood a chance. But now? If you don’t start talking, I promise you’ll die by my hand — in a way you would desperately avoid even in your wildest dream.” There was something unhinged in his voice, an excitement that bordered on sadistic glee.

Allison could see it in his eyes — the same manic thrill he had felt years ago when fighting subject 001. He longed to tear the woman in front of him to pieces.

To him, this was as exhrating as it was personal.

Pain blossomed in her chest as a rib cracked under his relentless grip. She bit back a cry, forcing herself tough — a breathless, defiant sound. “Fine,” she rasped. “I’ll talk.” But her mind was racing, calcting. She wasn’t ready to surrender yet. Stalling was her only option.

As she struggled against him, her eyes darted to the small, test-tube-shaped vial dangling from his waist. It glinted under the harshb lights, its contents shifting with his movements.

Such a vial surely contained the most precious of serums or something that would be used imminently.

Some fragmented memories came back to her — subject 75’s data file, Lilian’s frantic warnings, Verruckt’s abrupt exit from the conference room. It all clicked. The vial wasn’t just any serum. It was the BUGPOT.

She masked her realization with a sly grin. “You want the truth?” Her voice dropped, sultry and mocking. “I was sent here to seduce you. You’ve be quite the enigma, Mr. Shaw. So much so that certain people are curious. When I heard about your… sudden interest in a cleaner, I just had to see for myself. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled into thisb instead.”

But Verruckt merely sneered at her words. “I have to say, your excuse is too pathetic.”

He knew someone like her wouldn’t give in so easily; she was just trying to lower his guard.

His hand pressed harder against her throat as he spoke, his voice full of malice and murderous intent. “My patience is running out. Tell me, who sent you? Was it someone from Immortality Group?”
