Chapter 793

    ?Chapter 793:

A ripple of excitement passed through the crowd. “Look, Verruckt is here!”

Heads turned toward the entrance in unison. Curious, Mny looked over and saw a silver-haired figuremanding attention with his mere presence. He clutched a bouquet of roses, their vivid colors drawing every eye, including hers.

Her heart skipped a beat as she admired Verruckt’s distinguished profile. If those roses were meant for her, she’d certainly be the talk of the night. The thought brought a blush to her cheeks.

However, Verruckt soon headed into the restricted inner area, leaving Mny to wonder who would end up with those beautiful roses.

Verruckt entered the venue, his gaze swiftly finding Allison, who was secluded in a dim corner.

“Here,” he said, handing her the roses, their fragrance rich and heady, wafting through the air. “This evening is dedicated to you, along with these blooms.” The soft lights cast a ruby glow in Verruckt’s eyes, adding ayer of intrigue to his words. The banquet held more than just ceremonial significance, woven with hidden intentions.

Allison breathed in the lush scent of the roses, grasping the deeper message as she epted them with a gentle nod. “Thank you.”

She realized that he had slipped away earlier specifically to pick up these flowers. Her fingers brushed against a card hidden among the petals, its presence suggesting secretsyered upon secrets.

“Forget about Fiona’s earlier words. She’s hardly the sharpest,” Verrucktmented lightly, a smirk ying on his lips. “People are fickle—loyalty shifts with the prospect of gain.”

Allison met his gaze, her expressionposed. “It doesn’t bother me.”

Adjusting the bouquet, she discovered a packet of powder cleverly concealed within. The roses, it turned out, were a beautiful facade.

Cradling the bouquet closer, Allison spoke, her lips twisting into a knowing smile. “They’re truly exquisite. I cherish them.”

The surrounding guests caught snippets of their exchange, their smiles broadening, and a few pped in appreciation.

    “What a striking couple!”

“Those must be the rare Juliet roses, each a small fortune!”

“Verruckt certainly knows how to make a statement.”

As the pping dwindled, Verruckt’s voice cut through the murmur, effortless and clear. “I trust you’ll all enjoy the festivities tonight.”

He then took Allison’s wrist with a gentle firmness. “Let’s head upstairs. I have another surprise for you.”

With a nod, Allison followed, her mind racing with possibilities. Given his temperamental personality, Allison sometimes feared that his surprises would turn into something much more unsettling.
