?Chapter 848:
Looking back, he could see how his actions hade full circle. It was karma, in and simple. A bitter taste crept into his mouth, and a weight pressed on his chest.
Even so, he told himself that it wasn’t toote. He would do whatever it took to win Allison back from Ken, to prove to her that he was no longer the old Colton.
At Eastshade Dock, Allison caught up with Ken.
“I’m close by. How are things looking your way?” Ken’s voice, raspy and weary, came through the earpiece.
“All clear for now. My crew’s met up with Gordon, but it’s a maze getting out of here.”
From a secured vantage point, he scrutinized a map. “We’ve mapped out a getaway, but it means weaving through another cruise ship to the right.”
“Let me have a look.” Allison fetched her binocrs for a clearer view. She spotted two imposing cruise ships, anchored side by side.
“That emblem on the cruise ship rings a bell.”
Allison’s brow furrowed, struck by a flicker of recognition. Interrupting her thoughts, Ken said, “For a clean break, we’ll need a hand from that cruise ship…” His voice trailed off abruptly. Then, a crackle of static red from the earpiece. It sounded as if Ken was being chased, and suddenly, he was gone.
With a worried look, Allison stared at the dark silhouette of the cruise ship and immediately called Amya. “Can you dig up some dirt on that ck cruise ship moored at Eastshade Dock?”
“Sure thing,” Amya replied, her fingers already dancing across the keyboard.
From where Allison stood, the cruise ship was aze with lights. Clearly, it was party central onboard, with guests mingling freely while it made a brief stop.
“Ms. rke, I’ve got the scoop. The ship’s called the Gxy. It’s no ordinary vessel; it’s a swanky casino cruise that’s invite-only.”
Amya was glued to herputer screen.
“It’s Kylo’s show — he’s there as we speak.”
Allison pieced it together. “That exins the déjà vu.” The emblem was identical to one she had seen in Muisvedo.
No wonder Ken had eyed this particr vessel; the Gxy was not just any ship. Even the Mayor would need Kylo’s blessing to step on board.
She had considered pulling Kylo into her ns before, which was why, after clinching the bet in Muisvedo, she had him owe her a favor. The time to call in that favor hade. Unfortunately, she hadn’t kept Kylo’s contact information, meaning she had to track him down herself.
Determined, Allison headed straight for the Gxy. Outside, a man in a brown suit stood out among the throng.
