?Chapter 885:
Allison kept her cool and gave him a polite smile. “I’m a researcher from the second basement level. I just came up for something and saw this.” Her voice stayed steady. “If you’re unsure, I’d be happy to take you down and confirm it.”
She knew these guards only worked on the first floor. They wouldn’t have the authority — or the nerve — to follow her into the restricted basement areas.
As expected, her words had the desired effect. Their expressions shifted, and they suddenly looked much less suspicious.
“No, that won’t be necessary,” the lead guard replied, his tone softening considerably. “Just head southeast. Theb’s given us special orders today, so we’ve been a bit stricter than usual.”
Allison gave a small nod. “No problem at all,” she said casually.
Then, she gestured toward Ken, who was still hidden in the shadows. “Now, go to the hospital. You can alwayse back another day to visit theb. You’re wee anytime.”
With those words, she turned and began walking away, giving the impression that she was returning to theb. However, as soon as she left, the lead security guard quietly…
Issuing an order, the lead guard said, “Keep an eye on her. Make sure she really works in the second basement level.”
“Got it,” one of the guards replied and started tailing her.
Allison quickly realized that someone was following her without even turning back, but she didn’t react. She stepped into the elevator and calmly pressed the button for the second basement.
As the doors slid shut, she activated her earpiece. “How’s everything on your side?” she asked.
“We’ve made it out with Lilian,” Ken replied.
“Good,” Allison said, her voice steady.
Allison paused for a moment before deciding to stick with the original n. “Have someone take Lilian to the secret underground chamber. Hand her over to Amya.”
Ken gave a firm nod. “Understood. I’ll head back to theb and gather people to help you with the explosionter.”
There was no need for more words. They werepletely in sync.
“Later, you can change into security uniforms,” Allison added. “Amya’s already got them ready for you. Use the same route to stay hidden in theb.”
She continued with a few more instructions. “When you leave, don’t bother with locking the door…”
As their conversation ended, the elevator doors slid open. The guard trailing her clearly didn’t have the clearance to follow any farther.
Ignoring him, Allison walked straight toward the specimen room.
Her next goal was to see Colton.
After all, in her ns, someone needed to create a distraction so she could set off the explosion in theb. And now, that role would fall on Colton.
