?Chapter 887:

Still, something about the ce didn’t sit right with him. Theb was eerily quiet. Hardly any researchers were around.

“I’m not stealing,” he muttered under his breath. “I’ll pay for it.” His tone sounded more like he was convincing himself than stating a fact.

In his mind, paying made it fair — made it right. But he had no idea that Allison was secretly watching from afar, her face impossible to read.

Before long, Colton stepped out of the lounge.

His movements were slow, his resolve firm as he made his way toward Verruckt’s office.

“Finally, he took the bait,” Allison muttered under her breath, sipping her coffee as she made the call. “Amya, it’s time. Wipe out today’s surveince footage.”

Amya’s voice came through, calm and confident. “On it. Consider it done.”

At the same time, Colton pushed the office door open and stepped inside.

The uneasy feeling in his stomach tightened into a knot. The office seemed far too ordinary, almost as if it had been designed to look unimportant.

Could the nerve medication really mean so little to them? He took a deep breath to steady himself, then began searching near the bookshelf, just as Alice had said.

As soon as Colton disappeared into the office, Allison gave Amya another order. “Hack into the surveince for the first basement and set off the rm.”

“Understood!” Amya responded, her fingers moving swiftly over the keyboard.

Secondster, a piercing rm echoed through the first basement. A robotic voice red, “Alert! Intruder detected!”

The Meteor System was fully interconnected.

When the rm red on the first basement level, the sound carried down to the second basement as well. Amid themotion, Allison moved with quiet precision. She slipped into the lounge, ced a homemade fire bomb inside the microwave, set the timer, and walked out without looking back.

She timed everything down to the second and called Ken. “You can cut the signal now.”

“The jammer’s active,” Ken confirmed. With those words, the n was officially in motion.

There was no backing out now.

    It was all or nothing.

“Allison, stay safe. We’ll regroup soon,” Ken added.

“Okay, I’ll be waiting,” she said, her voice steady. Once the jammer was engaged, theirmunication waspletely cut off.

Everyone had no choice but to stick to the n and put their faith in each other.

Allison’s gaze stayed fixed on the microwave.

    Ten seconds… nine… eight…
