Chapter 896

    ?Chapter 896:

Just then, a soft “ding” echoed as the elevator doors slid open. Both women turned their heads at once.

It was clear that getting inside before thesers hit was the only way to escape unscathed. In an instant, they both sprinted toward the elevator, dodging through the storm ofsers.

Bang! The doors mmed shut, and thesers outside struck the steel with furious force, filling the air with the sound of heavy, echoing impacts.

Allison’s left arm was bleeding, but she wasted no time and pressed the button.

“You’re really pushing your luck,” she said, her eyes fixed on Lena.

Blood was already pooling beneath Lena’s body. Even in the confined elevator, it was obvious that she didn’t have much time left.

“If you’re brave enough… go ahead, kill me!” Lena rasped, ughing, ring at Allison. “No matter who sent you, Mr. Shaw will take care of you the moment he’s back,” she spat, blood dripping with every word. “Ourb will oust you — forever! Filth like you could never destroy it!”

Summoning thest of her strength, Lena lunged forward, aiming to smash the elevator buttons. But with a loud thud, Allison kicked her hard, sending her sprawling into the corner.

“Only freedom is eternal. Both you and thisboratory will vanish into darkness,” Allison said, her voice icy and dripping with menace.

Lenay crumpled on the floor, too weak from pain to stand. She knew her end was near, but the thought of dying filled her with bitter reluctance.

“Alice, I can’t help but envy you,” Lena muttered. “Mr. Shaw trusted you sopletely, and yet you stabbed him in the back.”

Lena had never seen Verruckt show even a hint of affection toward anyone. But with Alice, it was different. He had touched her — something unheard of — and gone so far as to give her the code to the hiddenb. The significance of that was painfully clear.

“I came here for one purpose,” Allison said, moving closer with deliberate steps. “To destroy thisboratory. Verruckt and I were always meant to be enemies.” Their shing ideals ensured that they could never fight on the same side.

Just then, the elevator doors slid open again. Without hesitation, Allison grabbed Lena by the cor. “May you atone for the test subjects’ deaths in hell,” she said coldly before shoving Lena out forcefully.

A piercing scream rang out as Lena’s head hit the floor hard, dying on the spot. Allison never hesitated when it came to taking a life.

Some researchers in theb had been forced into their roles, while others were driven purely by greed. Yet, in the end, they would all face judgment.

Lena, however, had not been part of Allison’s original n to kill. But in the end, Lena seemed determined to step into her own doom.

As Allison stood deep in thought, the elevator finally reached the exit.

“Allison!” Ken’s voice called out. He had been waiting for her at the end of the escape passage for what felt like ages.
