Chapter 914

    ?Chapter 914:

“You’re right. We have to find him!” the first officer agreed.

Before long, the police and military opened several vans parked nearby, revealing a number of terrified researchers and test subjects inside. Once they were taken out, the team began their search-and-rescue efforts. But everyone knew the chances of finding any survivors in the research institute were slim.

“What’s the point of even searching?” someone muttered.

“Let’s take a quick look around, just in case there’s anything of value left,” one officer suggested.

“Even if we do find something, it has to be handed over,” the other replied.

As the two experienced officers muttered to each other, they suddenly heard a noiseing from under a nearby b.

“Hey, did you hear that?” one of them asked.

“I heard it,” the other responded.

When they moved the b, they found a survivor hiding beneath.

“Hey, hey! Where’s the ambnce? Get a stretcher over here, fast!” they shouted.

Medical staff rushed to the scene and quickly assessed Colton’s condition.

“His airway looks burned, and he’s got a few broken bones. Get him to the hospital right away!” the medic instructed.

After Colton was taken away, the two officers stood, puzzled.

“How did he survive? Where was he hiding?” one of them wondered aloud.

Finally, they learned that Colton had survived because he had been in a well-equipped section of the building. There was even a full venttion system that kept him supplied with oxygen. Although he was badly hurt, he had managed to stay alive.

“Where am I?” Colton whispered as hey in the ambnce on his way to the hospital. His body was in agony, and through the fog in his mind, memories began to resurface.

He remembered trying to leave theb when suddenly someone locked the door behind him. In his panic, he had tried to call for help. But that was when he saw the researcher named Alice, only to realize that she was actually Allison in disguise. She was having a conversation with Ken. It was then that Colton understood he had been nothing more than a pawn in Allison’s n. She had used Alice’s identity to manipte him. Colton’s head throbbed as the painful memories flooded back.

From the moment he set foot in theb, Allison had been carefully plotting against him.

“This is the hospital. Stay awake! Think of the people who care about you!” a paramedic shouted urgently beside him. “Sir, don’t close your eyes! Stay awake!” The ambnce was filled with the sharp smell of disinfectant. It felt like a brutal shock to his senses, snapping him back to reality and scattering his thoughts. People who cared about him?

Colton stared up at the ceiling. For a moment, his mind drifted to Allison.

When they were first married, she would smile warmly at him and say, “You must be exhausted. I’ve made some soup for you.” She did everything a good wife should do—cooking, cleaning, and staying by his side when he was sick.
