?Chapter 928:

“Everything has been running smoothly,” he replied. “Thanks to your bravery, I was able to take over Immortality Pharmaceuticals. But I didn’t expect your ambitions to go even further.”

Initially, Kylo had assumed that Allison’s aim was simply to get rid of Verruckt and Josh. What he hadn’t realized was that her true intention was to destroy the entire research institute.

That first night after taking Allison and her team under his protection, Kylo had spent hours awake, trying to figure out her real motives. When he saw the researchers and test subjects, the pieces finally fell into ce. Her goal was clear — she wanted the research institute gone for good.

Allison listened to Kylo’s words without a flicker of emotion crossing her face.

“Did you get what you were after, Mr. Vargas?” Allison asked, her tone sharp yet steady.

Their exchange, though direct, was deliberate. Both knew they had too much at stake to let anything slip.

Kylo gave a sly smile. “Naturally,” he said.

“Rest assured,” he continued smoothly. “What I wanted were the legitimate businesses and operations of Immortality Pharmaceuticals, along with stronger ties to Fleeinnd. Nothing else interests me.”

He picked up the teapot and poured tea into delicate cups for both Allison and Ken. With a calm hand, he passed the cups to them. “I never waste time looking back. Those who need to disappear should simply fade away,” Kylo added, his voice cold butposed.

Allison epted the teacup, fully grasping the meaning behind his words.

“You have a remarkable understanding of the bigger picture,” she said, her toneced with respect. “I was far too focused on smaller details.”

“You’re far too humble, Ms. rke,” Kylo replied with a faint smile.

He then handed Ken a steaming cup, pleting the gesture. “Mr. Lloyd, have you been around muchtely? I’ve heard my house has been under surveince,” Kylo said, his tone light but pointed.

He was clearly referring to the infamous mafia.

Ken epted the cup of tea and replied, “I haven’t been out muchtely, but considering your dealings in both the legitimate and underground worlds, it’s not surprising someone’s keeping tabs on you.”

“Fair enough,” Kylo said with a nod, taking a sip from his own cup. “When I was younger, I would’ve made sure those kinds of people were dealt with — permanently,” he added, chuckling softly and shaking his head. “But now, I’ve started to think that violence isn’t always the best solution. What about you? Do you have a better idea?”

Ken caught on quickly — Kylo was testing him, digging into his experience.

“After tasting your tea, I must admit, I’m inclined to agree. Violence might not be the answer,” Ken said with a calm smile. “Let things take their course. Those who need to disappear will do so on their own.”

Even if Kylo hadn’t brought it up, Ken already knew how he’d handle the mafia if it came to that.
