Chapter 937

    ?Chapter 937:

When Gordon was sent overseas as a child, he had felt bitter and isted. Yearster, after meeting Allison, he had experienced some of the happiest moments of his life. But now, he realized that everything had changed.

He told himself that he needed to grow stronger—strong enough to stand up to his family. Only then could he be a reliable protector for Allison, shielding her from any danger.

“Gordon, if there’s anything you need, just tell me,” Allison said, her eyes locking onto his. “If breaking free from your family is what you want, I can help you find that freedom.”

“It’s fine,” he replied with a small shrug. “At worst, they’ll keep me locked up at home for a while and forbid me from going out. But I won’t go hungry or thirsty.”

Around Allison, Gordon always came across as the friendly, dependable younger brother. He gave off an air of calmness and trust, never seeming like a threat.

“I want to fight for my freedom on my own,” Gordon said firmly. His clear gaze met Allison’s. “Don’t worry, Allison. I’ll grow up fast,” he added with quiet determination.

The events in Fleeinnd had made him realize something important. Only by bing stronger could he truly make a difference. He wished that next time, he would be the one standing beside Allison—not Ken.

Allison gave a small nod. “Alright. Take care of yourself,” she said softly.

Over the past three days, she and Ken had worked together to arrange for their subordinates and Amya to return to Ontdale. Gordon was supposed to have left with Amya two days ago, but he insisted on staying to leave with them instead.

Allison hadn’t expected that they would still end up going their separate ways.

Gordon nodded. “I will,” he promised.

After speaking, he nced over at Ken.

Ken was busy buying coffee, yet even while standing quietly, he exuded an overwhelming presence. Thatmanding aura came naturally, born of confidence and strength.

So, that was Allison’s type? Gordon wondered to himself. He silently vowed that one day, he would surpass Ken, recing him in her heart.

“Goodbye, Allison,” he said as he turned to leave.

The truth was, he wasn’t leaving just to face his family’s scolding. He was leaving to grow stronger, to mature quickly.

“Goodbye,” Allison replied, watching him walk away.

She couldn’t help but notice that the young man standing before her seemed far more mature than he had been before.

While she was lost in thought, Ken approached with two coffees in hand.

“What’s the matter? That kid isn’ting back with us?” he asked casually.

He handed Allison a cappino and nced at the second cup. “I grabbed one for him too, but I guess that’s pointless now,” he said, his voice low and unhurried.

Ken’s eyes followed the direction where Gordon had disappeared, and he raised an eyebrow in mild surprise. Considering Gordon’s usual behavior, it was unusual for him not to stick close to Allison.
