Chapter 941

    ?Chapter 941:

“You two talk. I’ll find Ferdinand,” he said.

Almost on cue, Ferdinand sauntered over, his grin wide. “Good thing I’m here,” he quipped. “Otherwise, you’d look like a lost puppy trailing behind them.”

Ken shot him a t look. “Don’t act like you’re here out of concern for me. We both know you’re tagging along to stick close to Miss Green.”

Ferdinand immediately retorted, his voice rising in mock protest. “I’d risk life and limb for my dear friend! How could you suggest otherwise? I’m not someone who takes love more seriously than friendship.”

Reba, who had caught the tail end of the exchange, spun around, fixing Ferdinand with an incredulous re.

“You’ve got some nerve, Ferdinand, spinning tall tales without even blinking! Risk everything for friendship? Give me a break! I’m the one who found the arrival gate and checked the flight times. What exactly did you contribute?”

“I carried your bags and bought snacks so you could do your job more efficiently.”

    Reba’s jaw dropped.

Their bickering continued as Allison watched them, a soft smile tugging at her lips. Their noisy exchange brought a soothing sense of normalcy, as though she had stumbled back into the warmth of home.

Before long, they reached the parking lot.

Ferdinand turned to Allison. “Miss rke, you and Mr. Lloyd should head off. Reba and I have to dash to the suburbs. Ourpanies saddled us with a joint project that’s on a tight deadline.”

The truth was, their schedules had been jam-packed, but they had both made time to greet Allison and Ken. Seeing the pair safe and sound lifted a weight off their shoulders.

Reba’s gaze softened as she sped Allison’s hands. “Promise me you’ll visit more often, okay? If it weren’t for my dad’s obsession with partnering with Ferdinand’spany, I’d have more time to breathe!”

It was even putting a damper on her efforts to have fun with gigolos!

Allison chuckled. “Alright, Reba. We’ll head back now. You two… enjoy your coboration.”

She had a feeling that beneath their constant bickering, Reba and Ferdinand’s feelings for each other were evolving. They could deny it all they wanted, but their actions spoke louder than words.

As Reba and Ferdinand walked away, Ken leaned in and said, “That so-called coboration project? It’s definitely a matchmaking scheme by their families.”

Allison nodded knowingly. “I was worried at first, but it seems they’re managing just fine.”

After all, Reba and Ferdinand were both fiercely independent. If either of them truly didn’t want the match, no amount of meddling could force it.

Yet here they were, proving through their actions what their words refused to admit.

Ken reached for Allison’s hand. “Let’s go home.”
