?Chapter 950:
His voice was steady, almost as if he were making a deal. Yet, his actions spoke differently, coaxing her to give in. As his kisses moved lower, Allison’s body grew more sensitive and soft. His lips were rough against her skin, and his voice became deeper as he buried his face in her.
“At least don’t hide dangers from me like you did with Miss Green, alright?” he asked.
Allison tilted her head slightly, running her fingers through his hair. It felt soft and warm, probably because it had just been dried. The slight itch and tingling from the dampness made her feel like an electric current had run through her.
Her body grew warm under his constant kisses. “Okay,” she whispered.
Before, she always tried to keep dangers to herself, never wanting to drag others into it. But now, she had someone she could rely on, someone who relied on her too. She knew she wasn’t alone anymore.
As their passion grew, the lights in the room dimmed. All night long, waves of heat surged between them. For the next two weeks, Allison focused on preparing for the Hacker’s World issue, while Ken helped her handle the Mafia’s trackers. Then, one day, Allison received a call from an unfamiliar number.
She thought it was work-rted, but as soon as the voice came on, she recognized it as Mny’s.
“Allison, don’t hang up. I need to tell you something,” Mny said.
For once, she didn’t use her usual sweet tone. Instead, she called Allison’s name coldly, her voiceced with contempt.
“I know everything about Fleeinnd now,” she added.
Allison narrowed her eyes at Mny’s words. She wasn’t upset. Instead, she responded calmly, “If that’s all you have to say, then don’t waste my time.”
She acted like she was about to hang up.
Mny lost her patience and snapped, “Hah, you’re Alice from the research institute. You tricked Colton and me into stealing drugs from there, and you’re the one who caused the explosion!”
Allison let out a dismissiveugh, her fingers tapping lightly on the desk. “And?” she replied.
Hearing Mny mention Colton so casually made her realize that the man must have survived the explosion.
“Aren’t you worried I’ll go to the police?” Mny threatened. “After all, I have evidence.”
Mny said it eagerly, expecting Allison to panic. But instead of reacting as she expected, Allisonughed, seeming more like the one in charge.
“How surprising, Miss Johnson, you’ve gotten bold enough to threaten me,” Allison said, her voice calm.
Allison rested her chin on her hand and asked, “What’s the matter? Aren’t you scared of dying by my hand?”
Mny fell silent.
