    Lindy quickly chimed in. “She’s right. You should let the doctor examine you properly instead of chasing after…”


    Allison’s sarcastic smile silenced them. “Colton, Mny is your wife. To avoid misunderstandings, you shouldn’t walk me out. Besides, there’s nothing left to say between us.”


    Once, Colton had been her everything. But now, she didn’t care anymore.


    Keanu, anger shing in his eyes, added his own rebuke. “You want to walk her out? Did you even ask if Allison wants you to?” His words carried a deeper weight. If Colton knew this day woulde, why had he made those choices back then? There was no point in continuing this entanglement.


    Allison’s tone softened as she turned to Keanu onest time. “Take care of your health. I’ll be leaving now.”


    “Alright, be careful on your way.”


    Without sparing anyone else a nce, Allison walked away, her steps steady and resolute.


    However, she didn’t expect Colton to chase after her.


    “Wait… I know your secret,” he said, stepping in front of her to block her path. His deep eyes locked onto hers with unwavering seriousness, yet his tone carried no trace of hostility. Instead, there was a bitter edge of self-mockery. “You and Ken used me to distract the institute personnel, and you even nted explosives, didn’t you?”


    Allison’s gaze hardened, suspicion shing in her eyes. She thought he was trying to trap her, so she narrowed her eyes, studying him carefully.


    “Do you have any evidence?” she asked coolly, avoiding a direct answer and throwing the question back at him.


    Her distant tone, as if he were a stranger, struck a nerve. Colton’s chest tightened, a sharp ache cutting through hisposure.


    “Allison, can you stop being so cold to me?” He took a cautious step closer, his gaze softening. “I don’t have any evidence, but I saw what happened that night with my own eyes.”


    Colton drew a deep breath, steadying himself before continuing, “These past few days, I’ve been thinking, trying to understand why you did what you did.”


    His expression shifted, a mix of certainty and vulnerability etched into his features. “And I’vee to one conclusion. I believe Ken must have manipted you.”


    “Ken is dangerous. He has ties to bothwful and shady circles, and he’s killed without a second thought. Because of this, he’s earned himself plenty of enemies.” Colton locked eyes with Allison, his gaze steady. “But you’re not like that,” he said. “You saved me that day, didn’t you? That’s proof enough.”


    Deep down, Colton was certain that Allison still cared for him. To him, destroying the research institute sounded far more like Ken’s handiwork than hers.


    But Allison only chuckled at his words, the sound sharp and dismissive.
