Chapter 967

    ?Chapter 967:

She stood there, the wind ying with her hair, her eyes as calm and clear as still water. “I told you on the day we divorced — we owe each other nothing.”

Once, she might have been caught in a storm of emotions, unable to move past it. But over the years, those feelings had drained away, leaving nothing behind. Meeting Ken had shown her what it truly meant to feel free and at ease. Real love, she realized, was about being able to be yourself without fear or pretense.

“But I regret it,” Colton admitted, his words heavy with sorrow. He felt a sharp pain in his nose, and his heart felt empty, as if something inside him had died. “Allison, please, just give me one more chance…”

But Allison didn’t show any mercy. “It’s toote,” she replied coldly. Her face was frozen, her expression distant and hard, like she was unreachable.

“Mr. Stevens, move out of my way. Don’t make me p you right here.”

Her words were sharp, and there was a deadly edge to her voice. In that instant, Colton honestly thought she might actually go through with it.

“I won’t stop you.” He stepped aside, but a part of him still wasn’t ready to let go.

“I know you don’t trust my sincerity,” he said, his voice steady but filled with resolve. “But I’ll prove it to you, no matter what.”

Allison simply said, “I’m not interested.”

With that, she turned and walked away without looking back.

As he watched her leave, Colton’s face drained of color. In the next moment, a sharp, metallic taste filled his mouth, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood.

“Allison, I truly regret everything,” he muttered, his voice raw with emotion.

He kept telling himself that Ken had somehow enchanted her. For the past three years, she had always loved him. He just needed a little more time. Once the baby was born, he was sure he could fix everything.

Allison had just returned to the Lloyd family mansion when Jim had finished preparing the meal.

“Mr. Lloyd, Ms. rke, you’re back atst,” he said with a friendly grin. He directed the servants to start bringing out the food, still smiling.

“Lorna has been extra affectionatetely. She really misses both of you,” he added.

Jim couldn’t stop smiling when he saw Allison and Ken walking back together, hand in hand.

Lorna, who had been sitting quietly on the sofa, jumped up and rushed to Allison the moment she spotted her. She hugged her legs tightly.

“Al… Allison,” Lorna called out. Though the little girl still stammered, she now made the effort to approach others on her own.

“Good girl, Lorna,” Allison praised. She released Ken’s hand and crouched down to lift Lorna up. “How about we eat together?” she asked.

Lorna smiled and hugged Allison, nodding happily. “Yes,” she replied.

Ken smiled faintly and said, “Lorna really likes you.”
