?Chapter 1005:

Inside, she found a ck bank card.

“She didn’t take this card with her?”

Allison held the card, a sinking feeling growing in her gut.

Allison quickly grabbed Ken’s arm and walked out of the ward. “Let’s head to the fishing vige now. Have Sherman check the road cameras.”

    “Sure,” he replied.

The fishing vige was a long distance from the heart of Ontdale.

Before long, they received a call from Sherman.

“Mr. Lloyd, I checked the road footage. Miss Hayes hailed a cab to the fishing vige,” Sherman reported.

Ken nodded in acknowledgment. “Keep monitoring.”

    “Understood.”

Allison listened to Sherman’s update, and her expression darkened. “It looks like Amya returned to the fishing vige. She must have nned to see her parents,” she said.

Ken turned to her, puzzled. “Now that you know where she is, why do you still look so worried?”

“If she had the card with her, I wouldn’t be this worried,” Allison said, her grip tightening on the bank card.

“But Amya didn’t take it. And she’s been that couple’s daughter for twenty years. How could she not see what kind of people they are? That’s why I can’t shake this bad feeling,” she added, her voice heavy.

Her worries were soon proven right.

As they neared the fishing vige, Allison’s phone buzzed.

It was a message from Amya.

Allison unlocked the phone and read the long text:

“Allison, thank you for everything you’ve done for me. Honestly, when I ended up in the hands of the people from Shadow Nine, I had no hope left. But you came and saved me. When I got the bank card, I truly valued it and was so thankful to you. I really wanted to do something to repay you. However, I realize my life has been stuck, and I can’t move forward. I hope you’ll have a safe and happy future. I also wish you find someone more capable than me to help you.”

Allison’s heart raced as she read the message.

She knew it wasn’t just a resignation letter. It felt more like an electronic farewell note.

Ken took her hand gently. “Allison, stay calm. Let’s try calling her first.”

“Alright,” she replied, trying to steady her nerves. Allison took a deep breath and quickly dialed Amya’s number. The phone rang twice, but there was no answer.

After a brief pause, Allison decided to send another message. “You can quit if you want, but I need to ask you a few things about the Fleeinnd situation.”
