Sun Boyi, still grinning, said, “The semifinals are at 6 p.m. If you don’t have other ns after this match, how about taking your beast to the Beast Center for a full recovery checkup?”

“I’m absolutely not swapping shifts!” Dered a disheveled young man in a whiteb coat, holding a phone. His messy hair and ck-rimmed sses gave him a haphazard appearance.
“Dr. Wang, please! My husband got into a car ident, and I’m the only one who can take care of him. None of our rtives or friends are around!” Pleaded a distressed voice on the other end of the call.
“I have ns to meet my girlfriend’s parents tonight. If I don’t go, she’ll break up with me.” The young man replied firmly.
“I really can’t swap shifts.”
“But Dr. Wang-”
“I don’t care! Rent a Healing Coral or find another doctor to cover for you. I absolutely can’t.”

Just then, a fair-skinned woman with an oval face entered. Like him, she wore a whiteb coat.
The young man nced at her and moved the phone away from his ear.
“Dr. Zhang, Dr. Li’s husband got into a car ident, and she wants to swap shifts this afternoon. Are you up for it?”
The Haicheng Beast Center’s afternoon shift ended at 6 p.m.
The woman hesitated briefly before nodding.
“Sure.”

At 2:30 p.m., Qiao Sang arrived at the Haicheng Beast Center with Sun Boyi.
Though Yabao’s injuries had been healed by Lubao’s Healing Light, Qiao Sang decided the Beast Center would be the fastest way to restore optimal energy levels for the semifinals.
Thanks to their prior appointment, they went straight to the beast examination department.
After handing over her information card, Qiao Sang ced Yabao on a specialized examination table.
A white, soft-bodied nurse beast, wearing a nurse’s cap, adeptly wheeled Yabao into an adjoining room.
The two rooms were separated by arge pane of soundproof ss. Though Qiao Sang could clearly see what was happening inside, no sound reached her ears.
The nurse beast said something inaudible, prompting Yabao’s eyes to glow blue as he nced at his lightweight miniaturization bracelet.
In the next moment, Yabao returned to his original size.
And the examination table copsed.
Through the ss, Qiao Sang locked eyes with Yabao, whose innocent expression screamed, <i>I didn’t do anything! I have no idea what happened!</i>
Qiao Sang: …
“Wriggle! Wriggle!”
The soft-bodied nurse beast stormed out, furiously gesturing toward the female doctor.
While Qiao Sang couldn’t understand itsnguage, it was clear the creature wasining.
“Uh…” Qiao Sang quickly stepped forward.
“I’m sorry. How much does it cost? I’ll pay for it.”
<i>This shift swap was worth it…</i> Thought the female doctor as she stared nkly at the patient’s information disyed on theputer screen.
“Doctor?” Qiao Sang called out.
The woman snapped back to reality, looking puzzled.
“What’s wrong?”
“Wriggle! Wriggle!”
Before Qiao Sang could repeat herself, the nurse beast pointed indignantly at Yabao, as if reporting a misbehaving student to the principal.
The doctor nced toward Yabao through the ss and said, “Go back in. The examination isn’t over yet.”
“Wriggle…”
The nurse beast pouted but obediently returned to the other room.
“I’ll pay for the damages.” Qiao Sang offered again.
“No need.” The doctor waved it off.
“This was my fault for not warning you about removing the miniaturization bracelet. It’s not a big deal. We have more examination tables in the supply room.”
<i>What a kind person!</i> thought Qiao Sang gratefully.
The doctor then turned to Qiao Sang and said, “You have two other beasts, right? Let’s examine them too.”
Qiao Sang hesitated.
“That’s not necessary. They’re in excellent condition.”
“Xun xun~”
Little Treasure appeared with a chirp, indicating his wless state.
Unfazed by his sudden appearance, the doctor insisted, “You have a match tonight. Better safe than sorry.”
<i>So she recognized me and wants to see Lubao, huh?</i> Qiao Sang thought as she nced at Yabao undergoing examination inside, the copsed table still lying on the floor. She finally relented.

At the Haicheng Beast Battle Arena, the audience was bustling with noise. Many spectators were still finding their seats.
In Section C, Row 12, a woman dressed in a simple, forest-themed outfit navigated the row, stopping when she encountered a pair of long legs sprawled across the aisle.
“Excuse me.” She said.
The legs pulled back but then stretched out again, blocking her path.
“Dr. Li, wasn’t your husband hospitalized after a car ident?”
The woman froze, turning to see the owner of the long legs. Her forced smile was razor-sharp.
“Well, well, if it isn’t Dr. Wang. Weren’t you supposed to meet your girlfriend’s parents tonight? What brings you here?”
They exchanged a knowing look, then silently turned away.
The legs were retracted, and the woman continued forward, both pretending nothing had happened.
