    Connor looked at the unfamiliar number on his phone, a puzzled expression appearing on his face.


    After all, it was already midnight, who would call at this time?

    “It’s like this, Mr. Connor . 1 remember 1 mentioned to you before that my granddaughter will be having a birthday party in a few days. 1 hope you cane and grace us with your presence. Do you still remember this?” Luke asked softly.


    “I remember that. When is your granddaughter’s birthday party?” Connor didn’t want to owe him any more favors, so he asked directly.


    “It’s the day after tomorrow…” Luke replied.


    “The day after tomorrow?” Connor’s eyes shed with a hint of helplessness because he knew that he would be in ss on that day.


    “What’s wrong? Mr. Connor , is it inconvenient for you?” Luke hurriedly asked when he noticed Connor’s tone wasn’t right.


    “Two days from now is fine. Where is it?” Connor said helplessly.


    “Seven o’clock in the evening, in Borealis City next to Porthampton,” Luke said.

    Initially, he had thought that Luke’s granddaughter’s birthday party would be held in Porthampton. Although he had sses that day, he could have waited until after ss to attend.

    “That’s great! If you don’t have anything else, I won’t disturb your rest, Mr. Connor!” Luke eximed happily and quickly hung up the phone.


    Connor slowly put down his phone, his expression filled with helplessness.


    Because he knew that if he wanted to attend Luke’s granddaughter’s birthday party, he would have to ask Rachel for a leave.


    Whenever he thought of her, he felt a headache.


    But now he owed Luke a favor, and Luke hadn’t made any unreasonable demands. He just wanted Connor to attend the birthday party, and he even extended a polite invitation. So Connor naturally couldn’t refuse.
