Chapter 592

    ?Chapter 592:

She then forced a smile that never quite reached her eyes, hiding the storm inside.

“I represent the Stevens family, Miss Green. If you proceed, you’ll have made an enemy of all of us.”

Reba, casually twirling a lock of her hair, ughed — light, carefree, and utterly dismissive.

“Lindy, don’t be ridiculous. You don’t have the authority to speak for the entire Stevens family. Besides,” she added with a casual shrug, “even if I offend you, what could the Stevens family possibly do to me?”

Lindy’s retort faltered, the words stuck in her throat. She knew she couldn’t deny the truth of Reba’s statement.

After all, Reba wasn’t just anyone — she was the only daughter of a powerful real estate mogul. She was untouchable in her own right.

In contrast, the Stevens family, with their old money and waning influence, seemed like little more than a shadow byparison. Reba leaned back, casually spreading her hands and sending a triumphant wink at Allison.

“Allison, darling, what do you think of my little n?”

Allison, who had been standing silently by her side, couldn’t suppress a malicious glint in her eyes.

Reba knew that Lindy had tormented her best friend, Allison, for years, and now was the perfect moment for a little revenge.

“I think it’s brilliant,” Allison replied, the words coated with more than a hint of mockery. “But I wonder… those who im they’ll do anything for their loved ones — will they actually follow through when the momentes?”

A murmur rippled through the crowd as soon as Allison finished speaking.

“Damn. Seven hundred thousand for a p? That’s a pretty sweet deal. Someone could pay off a lot of debt with that!”

“Hell, if I could settle my grudges and get paid for it, I’d be all in.”

“Those two were begging earlier. They wouldn’t back down from a p, would they?”

The whispers pricked at Lindy, her face flushing with fury. How dare they mock her so openly? How dare they reduce her pain to nothing more than a transaction?

Allison tilted her head, the smile never leaving her face. “Have you made up your minds?”

It was clear that she was enjoying this, giving them a taste of their own medicine.

After all, hadn’t Lindy been the one to try to manipte the public and pressure her morally in the past?

Mny, ever the opportunist, didn’t refuse. Instead, her voice held a note of calcted curiosity. “Allison, you will keep your word, won’t you?”

She needed the assurance for her scheme.

“So, if we p each other, the money’s ours, right?”

    “Of course,” Allison answered.

Mny drew in a deep breath, as though preparing for something momentous.
