Chapter 631

    ?Chapter 631:

Allison took a bite, savoring it with an approving nod. “Perfect. Mr. Lloyd, is there anything you can’t do? You’re a master of both boardrooms and breakfast tables. I think I’m getting spoiled.”

A slow smile spread across his face as he heard herpliments. “In that case, I’ll make sure you never find anyone else’s cooking as good as mine.”

He handed her a ss of warm milk. “Drink up. Fuel for the day ahead. I’ll whip up some cereal, too.”

Allison leaned over and nted a light kiss on the corner of his mouth. “Thank you.”

Just then, a loud, relentless banging erupted from outside the vi.

    “Allison,e out!”

Startled, she looked toward the electronic screen by the door and saw Carole standing there, arms crossed and a scowl in ce, wearing a fitted pencil skirt as if she’d dressed up just for the confrontation.

Allison let out a resigned sigh, ncing over at Ken. “Well, Mr. Lloyd, it seems your charms are causing quite the stir.”

Ken’s normally calm expression darkened, his jaw tightening with irritation. “She’s really asking for it.”

He frowned, clearly vexed by the intrusion. He couldn’t fathom how Carole had tracked them down. As agreed, their coboration with the Greenfield Group had long since repaid the Perry family’s past favor, leaving no further obligation. Yet, here was Carole, still trying to win him over. The mere thought that something like this had ruined Allison’s mood made Ken want to strangle Carole.

    “Allison, I’m going to—”

However, Allison kissed the corner of his lips. “It’s okay, I can handle it.”

She knew about the old favor Ken owed to the Perry family, but the engagement had ended years ago. She wasn’t the least bit concerned. She was more curious about something else. “No one should know where we stayedst night.”

Ken frowned, perplexed. “I didn’t tell anyone.”

In fact, even Sherman didn’t know where he was for days.

Allison squeezed his hand, a smile tugging at her lips. “I believe you. I know you’d never slip up like that. My guess is Carole got a little help from Lindy and Mny.”

Outside, Carole continued hammering on the door. “Open up! I know you’re in there, Allison!”

Unruffled, Allison stretched with a nonchnt shrug. “Miss Perry, if you’re so impatient, the door swings both ways — you’re free to leave.”

Then she tilted her head to look at Ken. The man cut an imposing figure with his broad shoulders, lean waist, and chiseled chest — a sight she’d rather keep to herself. “Mr. Lloyd, why don’t you go change? I’ll take care of this.”

He brushed a kiss across her hand. “Alright.”

Momentster, Allison stepped out onto the balcony, a position that offered her a perfect view of the front door where Carole waited below.
