?Chapter 632:

“Something I can help you with, Miss Perry?”

    “Oh, don’t y coy with me — where’s Ken?”

Carole looked up, her gazending on the telltale marks on Allison’s neck. The sight seemed to shock her, rendering her momentarily speechless.

“Mny warned me yesterday that you were seducing Ken,” Carole finally spat. “I didn’t believe it at first, but now… Well, now I see the truth. You’re nothing but a conniving little bitch!” Since Ken had abandoned her at the café a few days ago, Carole had been furious. Now, she was venting it all out. Allison’s smug face only triggered her further.

    “You bitch, leave Ken alone!”

Clearly, Carole had rehearsed this moment, adjusting her appearance just so, hoping to present her best self in front of Ken. But seeing Allison’s rosyplexion, clearly having enjoyed a pleasant night, she waspletely thrown off.

Allison cut her off with a raised eyebrow, leaning casually against the railing. “Careful now. Who exactly are you calling a bitch?”

    “Obviously, you!” Carole snapped angrily.

Allison tilted her head in feigned contemtion, then gave a slow, knowing nod. “Ah, I see. So that makes you the angel, I suppose?”

Carole was bristling. The insult had certainly hit its mark.

    Carole’s face flushed with rage.

“I’m warning you, Allison! If you do anything to jeopardize the partnership between my family and Ken’s, you’ll regret it!” Her voice grew louder, as if she were the one suffering a great injustice. She was desperate for Ken to step in on her behalf. But he was still nowhere to be found. Was he even here?

Allison chuckled, as if she’d just heard something absurd. “Mr. Lloyd, Miss Perry here is talking business. Are you nning to defend her?”

Only then did Ken appear, rxed, his arm casually wrapped around Allison’s waist.

“I didn’t realize that without the Perry family’s business, the Charisma Company would suffer a great loss,” he remarked. His closeness to Allison was something Carole had never seen before — Ken was known for his distance from women.

Carole forced a tight smile, struggling to keep her emotions in check. “That’s not what I meant… My father just wants to revisit our marriage discussion.”

Her words carried an unmistakable undertone. “After all, in our circles, marriage is about matching status. Divorced women, those who’ve been discarded, they only tarnish their families’ reputations.”

Carole considered herself above reproach, but her words struck a nerve in Ken. Without a word, he inteced his fingers with Allison’s.

“‘Matching status?’ he asked coldly. “Carole, what is your family even worth?”

His tone wasced with a menacing edge. “If you don’t want the Greenfield Group’s deal to fall apart, stop making a scene.”
