?Chapter 675:

    Allison gave an obedient nod.

“Alright. The first basement level is fine. It’s warmer than the second basement anyway.”

Relieved by her easygoing response, Jareth went back to his duties.

But as he turned away, a flicker of resolve lit up in Allison’s eyes. She tapped her hidden earpiece twice, signaling Gordon at the secret base. Instantly, he picked up, and his voice crackled through.

    “What’s the word, Allison?”

In a hushed tone, Allison replied, “Today’s the day.”

Her words triggered the operation for everyone on her team.

Ken on the first floor responded first. “No issues on my end. I’ll be ready to kill the power when you give the green light.” He nced at the wall clock — just ten minutes left till two. He’d already scoped out the institute’s main power switch, but he needed theb door open first to pull it off. This was going to be tricky, given that only two people were in theb.

“Alright,” Allison said, eyeing the clock. “We move at two.” She knew that she couldn’t afford to let this window of opportunity slip.

Soon, Gordon’s voice came through her earpiece again. “Allison, five minutes left. Are you in position?”

Just then, the area was filled with researchers bustling about, some brushing past her without a second nce. Allison tapped her fingers lightly on the table, rying Morse code.

“How many people by the door?”

Gordon checked the surveince and responded, “Four.” Without dy, Allison rose from her seat and strolled toward the bustling break room. Smiling at the group, she casually opened the microwave. “Mind if I use this?”

With Verruckt gone, the atmosphere was rxed, and, as usual, gossip buzzed around the room. Yet, the moment they saw Allison, the room fell silent. She didn’t need to guess. It was clear that they’d been talking about her.

    “Of course.”

They all nodded quickly, but their eyes stayed glued to her, as if she were some rare creature on disy. After all, the rumor had spread. The pretty cleaner had somehow gained ess to the boss’s private area.

Allison wasn’t naive; she could feel their curious stares. She stared at the microwave, then looked up with a shy smile.

“Why do you keep staring at me? Do I have something on my face?”

The group, realizing their impolite stares, hastily put down their coffee cups. “Oh, no, of course not. We were just… we should get going.”

In moments, Allison was alone in the break room. Smirking, she walked to the fridge, took out a can of iced coffee, popped it open, and took a sip. “Verruckt really pampers them. This coffee must cost a fortune.”
