Chapter 723

    ?Chapter 723:

    The stillness made Gordon uneasy.

“Allison,” he said, his voiceced with suspicion. “Don’t tell me you’re nning to help him.”

“Not exactly saving anyone — more like picking up the shattered pieces,” Allison mused, her gaze fixed on the chaotic battle not far away. “And I’m not about to dive headfirst into my own grave tonight. That would be in stupidity.”

“Since I’m already here, I might as well make the most of tonight’s chaos,” Allison remarked, her toneced with quiet determination.

The smoke grenade’s limited dosage proved insufficient, as a sudden gust of wind swept much of the haze away, leaving the battlefield more exposed.

Still perched on the container, Allison asked in a low voice, “What about Verruckt? Is he still breathing?”

“He’s alive,” Gordon answered, his eyes fixed on the surveince feed. “But he looks like he’s one step away from meeting his maker.”

Since earlier, he had been viewing the CCTV tape.

Verruckt’s fighting skills had been cut in half since the smoke grenade hadnded, and his vision appeared to bepromised. He was no longer asfortable as he had been, facing more than twice as many foes.

In a one-versus-many situation, the mafia was skilled at taking advantage of vulnerabilities.

After losing the majority of their troops, they were able to inflict multiple wounds on Verruckt by focusing on his weak points. Verruckt’s blood was now on the ground in addition to the mafia’s.

After calcting the duration, Allison said, “Let’s wait a bit longer.”

Even though Verruckt was no longer in control, the mafia was still afraid to move further, which resulted in yet another impasse.

Allison could clearly see one of the mafia members trembling through her contact lenses.

“This guy is a madman,” she thought. The man in the suit looked like he was about to pass out.

There were now fewer than seven of them left out of the seventy they had originally brought.

The man in front of them wasn’t human—he was a murderous machine!

Despite being seriously injured, he was still capable of fighting back relentlessly.

Allison’s gaze locked onto Verruckt. Though his stance remained defiant, the tension in his shoulders and the tremor in his legs betrayed his exhaustion. He was running on fumes, and the Mafia members knew it. One of them, braver—or perhaps more foolish—than the rest, smirked and stepped forward.

“Seems like the drugs did their job, Mr. Shaw. This is where it ends for you.”
