Chapter 856

    ?Chapter 856:

“Deal with the ones trying to escape first. After that, handle whoever’s on the deck!”

Jareth wasted no time and replied briskly, “Understood.”

Meanwhile, Ken, unaware of Verruckt’smands, kept moving straight toward the deck without hesitation. As he turned a corner, a shot suddenly hit the floor just inches from where he stepped.

“There’s an ambush ahead!” he shouted, motioning for everyone to take cover immediately.

The problem was that this was thest stretch of hallway before the deck, and there weren’t any rooms nearby to use for shelter.

“We’ve been lured into a trap,” Gordon realized this and said with a deep scowl.

Ken nced down both ends of the corridor, his eyes sharp and calcting. “We’ll have to fight our way through,” he said firmly.

The narrow passage felt suffocating. Footsteps echoed ominously, blending with the sound of the wind howling in from the deck.

Ken could sense it — people were closing in fast from both directions.

Just as he began figuring out which group was closer, the entire cruise ship was plunged into darkness.

“The power’s out again!” someone eximed, cutting through the confusion.

Verruckt, already familiar with this kind of disruption, barked out amand without dy. “Get the emergency lights on!”

But before anyone could react, a deafening explosion erupted near the deck entrance.

    Bang!

The st tore through the stillness, and the salty air from the sea came rushing into the confined space.

A voice from the direction of the deck entrance rang out. “Someone blew open the deck— Ah!”

The cry was abruptly cut off as the person was attacked. The sh of fighting soon grew louder and more chaotic. Ken quickly assessed the situation. Deciding the way was clear enough, he gave a sharpmand. “Move around the corner!”

Without hesitation, he led his group forward.

The door to the deck stood wide open. From where Ken was, he could make out a lone figure standing on the steps, outlined by the pale glow of the moonlight.

With a single look, he knew who it was.

    “Allison,” he murmured.

For a fleeting moment, it felt unreal, as if he were caught in a dream.
