?Chapter 855:
He rose smoothly, his team already mobilizing to intercept Ken’s group.
The sh came swiftly in a narrow corridor, the space crackling with tension. Ken’s sharp gaze locked onto Verruckt, recognition shing in his eyes.
Bang!
He decisively shot out the overhead lights, plunging the hallway into darkness. Verruckt’s soft chuckle echoed, ced with mockery. “What’s the matter? Can’t handle the light, creatures of the dark?”
Ken ignored his taunt and calmly strategized. “Everyone, head southeast. Gordon and I will hold him off.”
With that, he engaged Verruckt inbat.
The battle was intense. Ken, already drained from earlier skirmishes on the cruise ship, fought with precision, while Verruckt, injured but relentless, matched his every move. Neither gained the upper hand. Then Gordon joined the fray, his strikes calcted and forceful, tipping the scales slightly in their favor.
“Go!” Ken barked, his voice cutting through the sh. He wasn’t looking for victory, only time.
The sound of approaching footsteps in the distance warned him of more pursuers. Wasting no time, he signaled his team and Gordon to retreat toward the deck. Verruckt growled in frustration, his crimson eyes burning with fury. “Damn it! If you’ve got any courage, fight me head-on instead of running like cowards!”
Despite his injuries, the thrill of the fight coursed through him, reigniting his instincts.
His taunts, however, fell on deaf ears. Ken and Gordon had no intention of sticking around; they had achieved their goal.
Verruckt’s tone shifted, cold and razor-sharp as he addressed his surveince team. “They’re heading for the deck. Check if anyone’s already there.”
“Yes, sir.”
Following Verruckt’smand, a technician swiftly pulled up the deck’s surveince feed. The camera panned across the area, scanning for movement, then froze. A figure emerged, blurred but unmistakably feminine, her outline sharp against the dim background.
The next moment, she raised her hand toward the camera.
Bang!
The feed erupted into chaos as the screen splintered into a jagged spiderweb of cracks. She just took out the camera!
“Mr. Shaw, there’s someone on the deck!”
“Send another squad to block the entrance to the deck.” Verruckt, suspecting there was someone already on the deck, promptly gave instructions to Jareth, who was in charge of guarding the area.
