Chapter 870

    ?Chapter 870:

Lena’s frustration boiled over. “Stop unting!” she snapped.

There was no way Verruckt could care for someone like Allison — a shallow, pretty face with nothing else to offer!

It was all a sham. It wouldn’tst!

With that, Lena stomped away in a huff.

Allison smirked faintly and trailed behind her without saying a word.

When they arrived at Verruckt’s office, Lena ced her finger on the scanner and unlocked theb door as if she’d done it a thousand times. “Get what you need and leave me alone,” she ordered, her tone dripping with superiority.

Allison brushed off the attitude and let her eyes wander toward the far end of theb.

“That person over there,” she said, tilting her head slightly. “Is that the test subject being sent off today?”

“Obviously,” Lena replied, her voice filled with pride. “But it’s none of your concern. Just find your file and get out.”

Ignoring Lena’s sharp words, Allison walked over to the file cab and started searching.

While she worked, Lena red at her with obvious contempt.

“Don’t mess around,” Lena snapped. “That test subject is critical. And the defense system’s been upgraded—one mistake, and you’ll set off thesers. They’ll kill you before you can blink.”

Lena’s words came out more like a threat than a genuine warning.

She expected Allison to react with irritation or defensiveness, but instead, Allison gave her a calm, faint smile.

“Thanks for letting me know,” Allison said, her tone genuine. Now she was sure that the defense system had been upgraded.

Opening the file cab, she immediately spotted the red folder sitting in in view.

But instead of grabbing it, she deliberately moved away, feigning ignorance.

“Do you happen to know where the red folder is?” she asked casually, drifting toward the safe.

It was the perfect opportunity to test theb’s security measures.

“How would I know?” Lena shot back, her voice sharp as a de. She stood by the door to the monitoring room, making no effort to assist.

“And stop bothering me. I have data to log,” she added coldly, her irritation in.

For someone new to theb, it was indeed difficult to sift through red files based on coding.

Lena secretly relished the idea of Allison fumbling around, making a fool of herself, and eventually begging for assistance.

Satisfied with that thought, Lena refocused on her task. She had data to log, and this was herst chance to monitor the test subject before it was sent away. All she wanted was for the day to pass without any mishaps so everything could proceed smoothly.
