Chapter 905

    ?Chapter 905:

Allison had known it wouldn’t stay a secret for long. Once they faced each other in battle, he would certainly figure it out.

“There’s nothing more to say between us.” She quickly aimed her gun again. Only two bullets remained. “Whether in the past or now, we were always destined to be enemies.”

Fate had a way of pulling them apart, setting them on opposing sides once again. Without a second thought, Allison fired.

    Bang! Bang! Bang!

She fired just as Verruckt charged at her. But Allison hadn’t expected him to have been holding back all this time, hiding his full power.

Now, in that moment, his speed was impossible to keep up with. He dodged the bullets effortlessly, and they barely scratched his arm and cheek. Blood trickled from the cuts, but he didn’t slow down.

By the time Allison understood what was happening, it was already toote. She didn’t even see how he closed the gap before his hand was wrapped tightly around her throat.

“Help evil thrive, you say?” Verrucktughed darkly. “When theb on the ind was destroyed, I learned that only power can control everything. So, for years, I’ve done whatever it took to rise higher. I even turned ordinary people into experiments. And now, I am the strongest.”

He squeezed harder around her neck. With just a little more pressure, he could snap her neck. Back on the ind, he had been the one who was defeated. Who could’ve imagined that after all these years, they’d meet again like this?

“How did you survive the congration?” Verruckt asked, his breath warm against her face as his grip tightened.

They were so close now that he could see the long, curledshes of her eyes. She was Alice. She was Allison. She was Subject 001. But no matter which name she went by, Verruckt was always drawn to her like a moth to a me.

“Everyone except me turned to ashes.”

Verruckt had looked into theb’s destruction years ago. But the person who set the fire had left no trace. The bodies found in theb had been counted, so he had believed Subject 001 was dead. But here she was, standing right in front of him.

“It’s none of your business.” Allison didn’t waste time answering his question. Forced to tilt her head back, she met his gaze. From where she stood, she saw the sharp edges of his face, twisted with hatred. Yet, she wasn’t afraid.

Verruckt had always been full of himself. But now, knowing who she truly was, he kept his grip on her throat without ending her life right away. It seemed that he didn’t even realize it himself — he probably had feelings for her.

“If you want to kill me, go ahead and do it.”

Allison shut her eyes, pretending to give in while quietly clutching a de in her palm, ready to strike. Her calmness only seemed to anger Verruckt more.

“You’re Subject 001. If you want to die, you’ll have to fight me till the end.” His gravelly voice hissed dangerously in her ear, instinctively warning her of the danger she was in. His warm breath on her skin felt like a snake about to strike.
